The causes of back and neck pain are diverse and complex. Regardless of the origin, pain triggers a protective response: affected muscles become inhibited, movement patterns change, and stabilizing muscles weaken. This increases the risk of recurring pain and can lead to a downward spiral of instability, loss of function, and chronic discomfort.
